The disadvantages of nursing homes are based a lot on their cost and the type of lifestyle you want to live when you are older. Cost is a huge consideration when selecting a nursing home. Because of this you may need to buy more insurance or find a supplemental insurance policy. Next, if you enjoy being independent and if you want to stay in your own home, then nursing homes are not the best option for you. Instead you will want to look into insurance policies that will cover in home long term care.
