Last week we talked about a couple of summer vacation options that you can use to improve your health and lower your long term care costs. This week I’d like to talk about how to compare the pros and cons of various long term care insurance providers.
The first step in finding a great long term care insurance policy is knowing what your options are. Researching the various companies that provide ltc insurance is easy to do online. Two of your options are Hancock long term health insurance and AARP long term care insurance. Create a list of all your options before you move on to the next step, however, keep in mind that not all insurance companies offer policies in all states.
The next step is to read reviews on the companies that you select. For example, you can read a Genworth long term care insurance review to see if (1) it is offered in your state, (2) that consumers are happy with the coverage and (3) to see how much it costs. As you read through the reviews jot down important information so that you can compare your options in step three.
The third step is to compare and contrast your options. Compare coverage options, restrictions, availability and cost. Also look at how long the company has been in business and how reputable the company is. Finally, select your top three or four companies and request additional information.
