Halloween Tips for Your Health

Fun Ideas for Snacks That Are Good for Your Health
Halloween and Long Term Health

Today is Halloween and I thought I would continue last week’s blog on healthy Halloween snacks. This week lets look at healthy party and snack food that you can serve at your Halloween party tonight.

Veggie sticks are perhaps the healthiest snacks you can serve at your Halloween party. However, they don’t look very Halloweenish. To create scary veggie snacks you will need to use your knife and your imagination. Tomatoes work well for a Halloween snack. They can be decorated as spiders by using toothpicks died black for the legs.

Boiled eggs are another healthy snack food that can be dressed up for Halloween. You can quickly turn a boiled egg into an eye ball by using food coloring to create an iris and pupil. Each egg is about 100 calories so you don’t want to eat too many.

Baked chips make a great alternative for the fried varieties. These chips come in most the flavors the traditional varieties come in, and they cost about the same as the fried varieties.

Another low calorie snack that you can serve at your Halloween party are sugar free hard candies. These candies come in all sorts of flavors from plain fruit flavors to chocolate and caramel flavors. Each of these candies has about 5 calories.

As for drinks for your party you will want to avoid sugar sweetened sodas. Instead offer diet colas, sparkling water and a variety of teas and coffees. While caffeine is not the healthiest compound in the world for you, for a party it is okay to indulge a little.
