Saftey Tips for Fall: Time to Update Your Long Term Care Health Insurance
Preparing for Fall

Well it is officially October. This is a month of transitions, both for the weather and for home safety issues. Because of both of these transitions, accidents are more likely to occur in October than in September. To protect yourself from falls, muscle strains, broken bones and illness, you need to take a few steps to prepare your home for the Fall season.

Step one is to keep your yard and walkways clear of debris. This can be particularly difficult to do in October as all the leaves that were green last month are now yellow or brown and falling on a daily basis. If you tackle the leaves as they fall then you won’t have to worry so much about hurting yourself cleaning your yard in one marathon yard raking event. Also, if you get your leaves raked up before they are rained on, your hauling will be much easier because they will be dry and not weighed down with moisture.

Step two of your fall prep is to have your storm windows put up. You can do this yourself or you can have someone else to do it for you. Storm windows will help to provide your home with a little extra insulation and this will keep your energy bills down and your home free of drafts. This will help keep you healthy.

The final step that you can take to prepare for the Fall is to update your long term care health insurance coverage. This month is a good month to make the changes that you need to make, or to finally buy ltc insurance. After all, injuries and illnesses are more likely to occur during the upcoming holiday season, and you need your insurance in place before you are impacted by one of these holiday hazards.
